I feel extremely privileged to have participated in the Jim Slotnick Fellowship at The Los Angeles Free Clinic. At the time, it was the most extensive exposure to clinical medicine that I had ever experienced. It was exciting and educational and had a profound impact on me. I still vividly remember the wonderful physicians with whom I worked and I can even recall some of the specific cases from that summer 15 years ago! Everybody I met there made me feel as though I was an important member of the team. It meant so much to me to feel that I was helping in the Clinic’s mission to provide care to some of the most underserved populations in the area. It is an experience that I will always treasure.
